Manufacturing of poles, which are low value products, require manufacturing techniques with minimum investment, high output and modular concept

Production of poles

Case 1 Production of Wooden Poles covered with Plastic

Project-task:

Deliver an injection moulding solution to partly cover wooden poles by a plastic layer with:

  • modular concept
  • use of existing equipment
  • low value moulds
  • balance between automation cost and labour cost

Injection unit:

Extruder that fills injection cylinder. A hotrunner system connects the various clamping units

Clamping unit:

Multiple clamping units. Each unit clamps one pole, inserted by operator

Control-system:

Complete machine controlled by Foma control-system

Mould-types:

Low costs moulds, welded from plate and pipe

Case 2 Production of cross-poles

Project-task:

Deliver an injection moulding solution to manufacture, thickwall cross-poles with a guaranteed production output, in a complete automatic operation against lowest costs, preventing very large equipment.

Injection unit:

Extruder that fills 60 ltr injection cylinder. A hotrunner
system connects the cylinder to each of the 12 cavities

Clamping unit:

Clamping unit orientation in a "non-logical" direction,
reducing the required clamping force from 3.000 ton to 60
ton. Opening and ejection stroke of 2.100 mm

Control-system:

Complete machine controlled by Foma control-system

Mould-types:

12 cavity mould, creating clamping force of 3000 ton
